The Hosur-based bikemaker re-entered the 125cc motorcycle segment with the TVS Raider. Armed with several segment-first features, the Raider is essentially a premium 125cc bike rather than an entry-level, no-frills one.

👉The TVS Raider 125 is available in three variants – drum brake (priced at Rs 85,973), front disc brake (priced at Rs 93,489) and SmartXonnect bearing a price tag of 99,990 (all ex-showroom Delhi). 

The 125cc sporty commuter is available in four different colours: Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black and Fiery Yellow.

👉The TVS Raider comes feature-packed with modern technology. It gets an all-digital instrumentation with real time mileage, range, gear position with gear shift indicator, helmet reminder, Eco and Power ride modes, three tripmeters, odometer, clock, top speed and average speed recorder, and fuel gauge. 

  • Moreover, the top-spec Raider gets a 5-inch TFT console with voice assist. It comes loaded to the gills with tech like Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation along with auto navigation in case of low fuel, weather updates, music control, call/message notifications and alerts as well as cricket/news updates.
  • In addition, the Raider also gets an all-LED headlight with DRLs, an LED tail lamp, and halogen indicators. It also features a USB charging port (optional), CBS, and underseat storage large enough to accommodate a smartphone and some other small knick-knacks.


TVS Raider 125 Engine:


👉The TVS Raider 125 is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve, fuel-injected engine. It produces 11.38PS and 11.2Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

 Moreover, the engine features TVS’ patented oil-cooled combustion chamber with an internal oil cooler. The TVS Raider offers a claimed mileage of 67kmpl, which is quite good for the 125cc bike segment.


👉The TVS Raider 125 gets two ride modes: Eco and Power. In Eco mode there's a three percent drop in performance, but the mileage increases by a claimed three percent.

 Interestingly, switching to the Power mode offers a claimed 10 percent higher top speed, with a 0.4 second quicker sprint to 60kmph.


👉Additionally, the bike features an integrated starter generator for silent starts, and an idling stop-start system to conserve fuel in heavy traffic. The bike shuts off after a while when it is stationary in neutral but can be turned back on by twisting the throttle. 

TVS Raider 125 Underpinnings:


👉The TVS Raider gets a telescopic front fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable gas-charged monoshock. Braking hardware includes a 240mm petal disc up front and a 130mm drum unit at the rear on the top variant.

 On the base variant, TVS offers drum brakes at both ends for an even more affordable price tag. The Raider rolls on 17-inch alloys shod with TVS Remora tyres measuring 80-section at the front and 100-section at the rear.

TVS Motor Company has updated its portfolio with the launch of a new premium commuter motorcycle, the Raider. This new model from the Hosur-based two-wheeler maker competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and the Honda SP 125 in the Indian market. TVS Motor Company will offer the new Raider in three variants – Drum, Disc, and Connected.


All variants use a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine that produces 11.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed transmission. The company claims that the 0-60kmph acceleration takes 5.9 seconds while the top speed has been rated at 99kmph.

The styling cues include a modern design for the LED headlight, body-coloured headlight cowl, body-coloured front fender, split-style saddle, aluminium grab rail, and an engine cowl. This 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle is available in four options – Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow.

The standard features on both variants of the motorcycle comprise an LED headlight with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a five-inch digital display, Idle Stop-Start system, two ride modes (Eco and Power), and a first-in-segment under-seat storage. 

The Connected variant further benefits from a colour TFT display, Bluetooth system, and Voice Assist function that works with TVS SmartXConnect system. The Connected variant gets additional functions such as navigation, voice assist, incoming calls, and message notifications. A USB charger is available as an optional extra.

The suspension setup includes 30mm telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The braking tasks on the base version are handled by drum units on both wheels.

 The disc variant gets a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the back. The safety net across all variants comprises combined braking system.
